New Kinship Caregiver Support Group (Free)

Family and friends who are caring for another’s child will have the opportunity to meet twice a month for information, support and education. Child care and a light supper will be provided. When Moms and Dads Disagree

Parents often experience disagreements over parenting and discipline concerns involving their children. This can lead to stress in the relationship and ineffective parenting practices. This three-part program will examine the common pitfalls of co-parenting and ways that mothers and fathers can be more united in their parenting. Topics covered in this program include:

o Gender differences in parenting

o Parent communication and achieving consensus

o Mothers as a gateway to greater father involvement

o The basics of effective discipline

Bob Brinker of the ParentWISE Program of Family Services of Western PA will be conducting a new parenting series entitled “When Moms and Dads Disagree”. The series will run on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm February 15, 22 and March 1, 2010 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Please join Bob to learn about the common pitfalls of co-parenting, how to empower each other and develop a united front for the sake of your children.
