Programs currently offered include: Drug and Alcohol Services: programming to address a district’s specific needs with students who have violated school policies, classroom prevention and prevention groups, and student monitoring at Penn Hills High & Middle School and Fox Chapel High School. Time-Out/Personal Responsibility Rooms: students at Burrell High School and Huston Middle School have the opportunity to develop a plan for more pro-social behaviors in the school. This program is a diversion from detention and suspension and provides an opportunity for the student to modify negative past behaviors. Alternative Education Classroom: full-time mental health professional supports the classroom Alternative Education Instructor at Springdale High School by providing individual student plans, addressing issues that may impact academic and behavioral concerns, and assisting students in removing barriers for a successful return to regular classroom activities.
