Senior Services

Supportive services for seniors are provided through our Apprise and Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) programs.  

IVC  recruits volunteers from the community at large and through its network of 48 diverse religious congregations throughout Allegheny County. Volunteers provide critical in-home, non-medical services that assist frail seniors with the tasks of daily living.  

APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program for Pennsylvanians with Medicare. APPRISE counselors are trained to answer questions and provide objective, easy-to-understand information about Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, Medicaid, Long-Term Care Insurance, and the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit.
