Become An Advocate

Advocacy is when regular people from a legislator’s home district deliver a message of importance and concern regarding a specific issue combined with a specific request for action pertaining to that issue.

Family Services of Western Pennsylvania has a committee to help with this process.  It is the “Legislative Affairs Committee.”  Our committee: (1) Promotes legislative activities; (2) Provides timely information to our staff on legislative issues affecting services and supports our programs provide for children, adults and families; (3) Provides representation and expertise on legislative issues that affect Behavioral Health, MH/MR and D & A services; and (4) Promotes collaborative relationships with groups and organizations important to the success of Family Services of Western Pennsylvania’s legislative interest.

If you are interested in volunteering as an advocate click here and complete the form. Then hit submit and a staff person will contact you.
