Allegheny Health Choices, Inc. invited six agencies to come together to share and promulgate lessons learned in their journey to become Recovery Centers of Excellence.  Thus far activities have included assessments of recovery status of each organization using the Recovery Enhancing Environments (REE), developing training capabilities for Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) and Recovery Management Planning (RMP), development of plans for each agency to increase the amount recovery orientation and researching ways to measure recovery outcomes.  Consumer and staff representatives from each agency have been meeting regularly for over two years and share successes, failures and specific tools and approaches that have worked well.  Wilma Townsend has been contracted with by Allegheny Health Choices, Inc. to help facilitate and grow the expansion in the use of recovery principles and practices in this learning community.  Below see a newsletter that describes some of those activities.
