| Family Services of Western
Pennsylvania has been selected to sponsor a program
called 'Ways to Work', a program affiliated with our
national organization, the Alliance for Children and
Families.
The Ways to Work mission is "to support and
strengthen families by providing low interest loans to
qualified families to encourage employment and/or post
secondary education."
Finding and keeping a job can be a challenge for
working parents. Occasionally, expenses arise that a
family is not prepared for, such as buying or
repairing a car.
Ways to Work was established to help families deal
with these kinds of situations. We help working
families maintain economic stability by providing
loans to cover "job related" expenses or
transportation needs.
Ways to Work is available exclusively to parents,
to assist them in maintaining employment or continuing
their education. Applicants who are approved for loans
will also receive budget counseling to learn how to
make the most of their income.
Ways to Work is currently available to the
residents of Armstong, Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette,
Greene, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.
